Save Our Towns and Villages

3 Feb 2021
Budgens

Your local Liberal Democrat Candidates are working to bring life back into our towns and villages. Burnham has lost its last bank and the High Street pharmacy may close. The good news is the opening of Budgens offering an attractive range of meals.

Marlow has lost many popular shops, including Waitrose, Cath Kidson and Office. In the Farnhams, the local Lib Dem team are fierce proponents of supporting the local High Street, helping families and the elderly, and working with the Parish Council on matters such as traffic calming, infrastructure and planning."

Councillor Carol Linton said "The only way to save our village centres is for locals to use the shops and restaurants. We must engage with businesses, pubs and cafes to put on events to attract villagers and visitors. For Burnham, we must build on the annual Christmas Fair and hold regular entertainment and activities using the great features of the village." Local businesses are at serious risk after months of lockdown, threatening jobs and the economy. Now more than ever, we all need to get behind local enterprises, show our support and help save jobs and livelihoods.

All the local Neighbourhood Planning teams need expert advice from residents and new ideas. Business as Usual is not enough. Get in touch to put forward your ideas.
